Boost engagement and collaboration before class
Using the Comprehension tool, instructors create a reading comprehension assignment in which students work in groups to analyze the materials based on the annotated themes. This process enhances collaboration, and preparation prior to class.
• ASYNCHRONOUS • IN GROUPS
In-class small group and class discussions.
Students first work in their groups to discuss the common themes and questions arose during the comprehension activity. This is followed by a discussion among the entire class where instructors clarify the misconceptions.

Groups work on deliverables
Based on the input during the previous steps, groups work on a deliverable (writing report, presentation, research paper, etc.). The focus is on their collaboration and communication skill development.
• ASYNCHRONOUS • IN GROUPS
In-class presentation
Each group presents their work in class and receives feedback from peers and instructors. This process helps develop oral communication skills and critical thinking.

Reflection on the collaboration process
To help stimulate self-regulation, accountability, and feedback skills, instructors design evaluation activities where students reflect on the collaboration skills of their group members and themselves based on a set of criteria. This process can be streamlined within Group Member Evaluation and Self Assessment tool.

Teacher feedback on observed skills
Instructors provide students feedback on their presentation skills based on a rubric using the Skill Review tool. This allows students to set goals for where they aim to go, what that looks like and how they can achieve it.
